The project comprised of the conversion of the existing Hair and Beauty department into a new college refectory.  This was the further stage in a serial contract to upgrade the college facilities.

All works were completed on programme and budget, with the facilities formally opened by the new Principle, who like the staff, were delighted with the new facilities.

As in previous years the outline brief and instruction to proceed was received late, leaving a tight programme to procure and complete the works over the busy summer holiday period.  It was vitally important that the new facilities were operational for the start of the next academic year.

Risks and procurement issues were highlighted early in the programme with long lead-in’s for Glazed Screens in particular and also coordination with the separately appointed kitchen fit out contractor.

Regular progress meetings were held with the Contractor and Client stakeholders to ensure any issues were swiftly dealt with and that the works were coordinated with the Clients operations.
