This Grade II* Listed end of terrace Georgian property required extensive refurbishment to convert the former dilapidated retail unit into luxury apartments/studios, offices and a retail unit.
The apartment layouts were sympathetically planned to cooperate with the requirements of the conservation officer and retain the existing period features in the building. Bespoke bathroom pods were fabricated as items of “furniture”
RMS managed the design and negotiated 2 stage tender process.
Lesson learnt from previous projects led to an enabling works package assisted in mitigating the risk of delays and associated costs of unforeseen issues. A temporary roof also facilitated extensive renovation to ensure the fabric of the building remained relatively dry throughout.
The project was very challenging for the contractor with extensive works being required in a very tight timescale to achieve completion for the new academic year.
